Municipalities for development of sector` and action` plans chosen. Ceremony of signing of Memorandum of Understanding held with 26 cities and municipalities in Serbia chosen on base of Open invitation.Within Project of support to the municipalities IPA 2007, ceremony of signing of Memorandum of Understanding in Belgrade held with 26 cities and municipalities chosen on base of Open invitation to the municipalities, for technical support for making of action` and sector` plans of development. To the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding attended in the name of president Igor Novakovic, Milan Djurdjevic, president of Assembly of City Municipality of Palilula. Palilula Municipality is chosen for technical support of Project MSP IPA 2007 – for making action` plans of development.
Within Component 1 of the Project MSP IPA 2007, Municipal planning, on the base of previously announced Open invitation to the municipalities, it is chosen 15 local self-government for development of sector` plan and 12 local governments which will be provided support in development of action` plans. For support of making of Action` plans and development of concept of projects, on the base of adopted Strategies of local sustainable development it is chosen 12 cities/municipalities, as follows: Kanjiza, Kula, Koceljeva, Topola, Paracin, Raska, Bojnik, Vlasotince, Trgoviste, City Municipality of Palilula Nis, and cities Uzice and Novi Pazar, while for support of making sector` plans is chosen 15 cities/municipalities, as follows: Nis, Valjevo, Kragujevac, Uzicew, Pozarevac, and municipalities Ivanjica, Razanj, Dimitrovgrad, Sokobanja, Barajevo, Nova Varos, Prijepolje, Stara Pazova, Odzaci i Zitiste.
Area of support of Project MSP IPA 2007 in making of local cities/municipal plans is reflected through making of regional and local plan of rural development, local energy plans, plans for development of traffic, habitation, for managing of environment, plans for managing of waste, as and making of plans for development of small and medium enterprises. General goal of project component Municipal planning is focusing on support to the municipalities in realization of Local strategies of sustainable development (SLOR), representing strategic plans of cities/municipalities in setting the basic guidelines of development of municipalities. SLOR is an important link in the national chain of tools for planning, connecting national strategies and sector` plans with tasks and activities of local self-government, considering daily life, obligations and needs of the citizens. Project of support to the municipalities MSP IPA 2007 is financed by European Union, realized by consortium led by German Society for technical cooperation (GTZ). MSP IPA 2007 provides support to the municipalities through four components of the project of which the first two components are focused on municipal planning and managing of finance. Project closely cooperates with Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM), Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self Government and local self-governments in Serbia.
